At first I too thought there might be too many possibilities in the endgame, but I got them all by listing out the possible changes to crossing entries. Perhaps it helped that I'm a member of Chalicea's club, but not too much!

Sorry, all of the non-thematic words are in Chambers. Two of the three thematically changed words are there, too.

A nice puzzle and the endgame was unambiguous, thanks JFD, keep 'em coming.

Without meaning to give too much away, if I add up the numbers of the 4 thematics and add the sum of the numbers of the result, I get 16. However, I am desperately in need of a nudge for 1d and 22d.

Got 22d now - it's always easier when I spell other answers correctly!

I don't actually need 1d to complete the puzzle as long as my 20 affected cells are all but 4 and all but one twice.

I agree that this was an excellent puzzle and the endgame was very clear and definitely not a GWIT. Thanks to JFD.

A reasonable endgame - luckily this is a favourite subject.

I usually find the end game the most difficult part of The Listener puzzles. I found this quite accessible, perhaps because the phrase in one of the thematics came up in another puzzle some time ago (Possibly not a Listener). Liked the theme.

1D - definition contains the misprint as per preamble and is the last two words.

‘It’ is the usual crossword staple, and the two-letter abbreviation for horsepower is from another language.
