Thanks HW7. At least I had the right answer and definition, it was the parsing that was eluding me - but I see it now, 2,2(3)2.

I meant 2,1(3)1 - I haven't woken up yet!!!

I'm closing i on the grid fill. NO idea of the parsing for 45ac, but confident of the entry.

Tips please for 19 ac ( looks like a no-misprint case?) and 31 ac (nothing fits!).

I can't see the wordplay for 4 d either

Sorry, 31ac is fine- I was misled by a wrong entry in 28d!

Dylan, 19a has a misprint. Def. is the first 5 words. "yearly" + an unusual (to me) word for sail
31a is a proper noun, so will not come up in the dictionary word search. "a" + "track system"

4D - a six-letter legal term for delay taking the usual single letter drug. Definition is first two words [with a misprint].

I thought this was going to defeat me when I first looked at it but I plugged away. Fortunately the third thematic answer gave me the 'in' I needed to finish it. A very clever title.

Almost there! I have completed two examples of the first instruction and the second instruction. If I have got these right, I reckon that every cell of the final part of the first instruction will be affected. Is this correct?

0pt0. All the implementations of the first instruction involve some but not all the cells in the thematic entries.

Thanks Smithsax. I have re-counted and I now think that all but one of the cells in the final part of the first instruction will be affected. Does this sound better?
