Struggling to parse 29a - seems like there's a redundant word but can't make it work in the unclued entries...

29a, dance moves minus P, backwards. That will help identifying what you already know.

No redundant word - look up the last three letters of answer in Chambers

There is no extra word in 29d.

Just got it, not surprised no-one bothered to reply to my earlier query!

I have managed to fill the grid (apart from the central cell), but the third sentence of the preamble has me baffled. The preamble says "replace each letter in these entries", but some of the letters in the un-clued entries are un-checked and others are in entries whose clues do not have spare words. Clearly, I am misunderstanding something, but what?
