Hints too -large and small - may be found here.

Giving away the theme itself isn't really in the spirit of these threads! Nudges and hints to the theme are occasionally needed....

If your preamble gets longer than that of the puzzle itself, we'll know we're in trouble. 😉

I have rings 1 and 3, and therefore the theme - but this is going to be another cold solve nightmare as, as far as I can see, rings 2,4,5,6 do not seem to offer any help

Mathsprofrockstar, believe it or not, that is the shorter version! You should have seen my earlier ones.

Gitto, I could well be wide of the mark but, from what I've done so far, I'm guessing that we may find half of ring 5 helpful.

gitto, the common letters in rings 5 & 6 are always a help in radials. Thoroughly enjoying this, but I'm going to put it away to enjoy the final three quarters tomorrow afternoon.

Not looking for a hint or anything, but I'm having trouble with the perimeter clues. The lack of definition is throwing me.

This isn’t a hint as such, but I found it invaluable to get some of the answers in the third ring, then do a search…

You are spot on will37, but this is definitely a cold solve nightmare. For example, I have 4 letters for radial 16 and the extra letter - do I know the answer, not a bloody clue (yet)

Hi mathprof,

In puzzles like this, you can usually find that the clues in a circle share some thematic character, so if you can sort out the wordplay for any of them, look for synonyms that could fit the other clues.

I managed this puzzle in about 3 1/2 hours, about an hour longer than last week but less than half the time I took on the puzzle two weeks ago. I don’t really like circular puzzles as there’s always a lot of cold solving, and for this one it took nearly 40 minutes for the last two entries to go in.
