Got it, I'd considered that due simply to the process of elimination, but it just didn't look right so I'd convinced myself I was missing something obvious.

21a - Is thematic - 3 letter abbr. of "detective" + 5 letter "fan" all reversed/"repelled" - definition is "outraged".

21d - Anagram/"beat" of "A drum" + extra letter - definition is "extra mounts".

32a - Is thematic - 4 letter "virgin" (the person's name) around single letter for "love" + 6 letters of a 7 letter word for "offering" - definition is "plant for a crush"? (the plant isn't the type that grows)

2d - Is thematic - 3 letters for "people of fashion" + single letter "note" all inside/"found in" a 4 letter "Native American" - definition is "fabric".

I don't get how the modification gets to the definition in 36a. Also, is 2d answer or modification properly thematic? BRB implies not.

Think it’s a bit of setter’s licence in 2d. T is a common abbreviation even if it isn’t the official SI unit.

36a - change the penultimate word and you have synonyms for brothels

Just one to do, 34a, I can't find anything to fit there.
Maybe I've got 24 down wrong as I haven't fully parsed it. I'm thinking of an exodus for 'flight'. As on an album by Joni. But the anagram doesn't really work!

Sorry ignore that, it was thematic 25d which I'd just entered wrongly.
All finished now.
Still curious about parsing on 24d though.
