I have an answer for 32 ac, which fits the definition , and a couple of cross checks. Any hints on parsing, please?

I thought once I got the title and author everything would fall nicely into place - alas, not so!

Can anyone confirm if 22d and 32a are in Chambers, only my letter patterns are not yielding anything.....

22d - ?MO?MT - could be thematic

32a - ?O?N?I?AR? - could be thematic

Are these correct?

Brendan - both correct so far and both thematic

Dylan - a famous Virgin surrounds both “love” and a shortened “offering”

Yes, the actual answers are in Chambers before the thematic adjustment.

Certainly less demanding than last week, but also not as satisfying.

I could not help noticing that in several cases the restoration of the 'real' word resulted in a clue which did not read well. This was particularly so when it was an anagram clue, so there could be little doubt about how the extra/omitted/misprinted letter worked.

Examples: 33, 35 (certainly bizarre), 9,13. 16, 21, 28

In other cases, the revised clue made perfect sense.

foinaven, I do not see how 33 is an anagram, unless of course, my answer is wrong.
