We really enjoyed this. FOI was 1D. That helped us get 9A and after we solving 3D we finally worked out 14A. COD 12 and 21 (2 choices between the three of us).

Hi Quocunque,

13a - it's a Pauline clue - the answer is a famous "empire" but also where you can 'rest your behind/"behind supporter"' when you sit on one:-)

Thanks Brendan, I was hung up on the "ottom" sequence, much simpler than that.

Hi everyone

I started well unlocking 14ac quite quickly, though FOI was 11ac. I've done most of the top half, but got stuck on bottom half. My geography is quite good, but my capital city list by number of letters also helps. I don't drink coffee which doesn't help with some of the clues.

I can think of two answers for the capital in 15d, but can't parse either of them. Please can I have a hint. All I have is it starts with B.

What is the definition for 24ac?

Hi roof
15d the coffee refers to the colour rather than the drink. Put an alternative to "I would secure"in it.
24 "covering items"

Hi Roof,

24a - definition is quite loose, it's "covering items" as in garments.

15d - 2 letters for "I would" + 3 letters for "secure" (as a verb) all inside/"invest in" a 5 letter synonym for "coffee" (not the drink)

How is the hand, has the cast come off yet?
