Easy enough to miss the odd extra word but there are seemingly 5 top right (ACNAS) and 6 bottom right (BCHPDE). I particularly enjoyed the second riddle with its eponymous character, thanks Xanthippe !

crosswhit99 - I'd love to know where that 'S' in the top is coming from - you're the second one to see it (and I still can't!)

... now I see it - but 'Seemingly endless' is the definition for the answer there.

No drxx, I see the Oarsman word as being necessary because the riddle's answer is as so described

'Oarsman...', 'Fancy...' and the other three as mentioned in my earlier post. I can't see where another word would come from except 'Plant cells...' and that looks very normal to me.

Thanks, yes - I think 'cells' is extra.

I have to say, this is where our desperate attempts to avoid giving too much away backfires - we take ages without getting very far, and give much more away in the process!

All - grid complete though cannot parse 1ac?

Struggling with riddles. Now think “clue order” means as listed, across then down, not by clue number eg 1ac followed by 2d etc.

Would appreciate if someone could give initials to riddles TL and BL..
