Ah yes Mr (Professor?) Stern. It was bad enough when there were 2 of them, but 3!

I like the song, but have never heard it sung. I'll look it up.

I have just listened to it - absolutely lovely. Thanks for guiding me to it. I regret to say I didn't know about it.

Yes it is lovely, especially with the brass band. I like the "sting in his tail, sting in the ale"...or sting in t'ale as we say here.

Pleased you enjoyed it ... Roy Harper is from Manchester originally and is still touring at 78! - I think `lone Cricketer`is probably his bestest song - it gets me every time, especially when t`brass band comes in!

One for your "anti-collection", malone - today's Guardian:

Curmudgeon in receipt of Nutmeg's misdirected delivery (6)

(Nutmeg is the compiler)

Sorry for the delay in replying to your posting to Tyke of 3rd Nov. I have been campaigning for 3 weeks and have only briefly glanced at the forum. But I would like to talk to Ivan Napple about the election, so I am off to the market now.

Great to hear you've been hitting the campaign trail, but even better to hear that you're off on one of your market jaunts.

I thought of you - and some other PU members- when I saw this clue in today's Guardian...

6 D. American novel on delivery (3,6).
