Hello, Elle,
In my third bottom line it is "past" not "passed", I think.

Hey, Rusty!
Yes, what a disappointment!
I was so sorry (desolated!) to see Roger lose....but Milos Raonic played brilliantly and deserved his win.
Roger did have a bad fall...but he seemed okay afterwards.
At least you saw the end !
When you mentioned the collapse of the Flamme Rouge Arch, I was envisaging falling masonry and wondering how many casualties there would be!
But I see from Google that it is an inflatable arch!
I live and learn!
I am glad you enjoyed the race.
I however am inconsolable..........
Now for Andy Murray versus Thomas Berdych........ummm!

Hello, Elle!
The inflatable arch had a puncture!
Isn't le Tour great!
I think I have mentioned before, that things can, and do happen, on the roads of the Tour de France!
Adam Yates seems to be injured by it, though I did not see him hit it.
One of my favourites runs this evening.
Dafne Schippers. No idea when her race is though.
I watched a documentary earlier today on Sergey Bubka.
It was excellent.

Rusty, the arch more or less tumbled on A Yates and surprised (or at least this is what the French TV said a few minutes after it happened; his bike somehow ended up on top of part of the fallen arch, and obviously Adam fell. His face was very bloody when made it to the finish line.

Hi, Rusty!
Now I know of Adam Yates - he has a twin brother, Simon?
(You see, I do retain some information!)
I am envious that you are able to watch the Athletics!
Yes, I like Dafne Schippers, too.
She made a good transition from the heptathlon to sprinting.
She is a good 200m runner.
Apart from Sergei Bubka's role in the IAAF, all I can remember of him is that his pole-vaulting record held for ages until broken by Lavillenie.
What channel showed the documentary? I do not remember noticing it.
Are you watching Andy?

Hello, Pigale!
I did not see Yates at the end, or realised he was bloodied.
I saw him on the ground with no bike where the Flamme Rouge had fallen. He'll be fine!

Hello, Elle.
That is impressive, you knowing the Yates brothers. Chapeau!
It was one or other of the SkySports channels that showed the Bubka documentary.
They show them regularly. I have seen ones on Ronnie Delaney, Olga Korbut, Franz Klammer, Carl Lewis, Lester Piggott, etc.
No, Andy will have to manage without me tonight.
I am sure Judy will cheer him on.
I am going off to visit some of the family for a wee while.

Hi, Rusty!
Are you home again?
I hope you had a good time with your family.
Andy won in three straight sets.......he outplayed Tomas Berdych.
I'm afraid that the only highlight of my day was Heather and partner's win into the Mixed Doubles Semi- Finals, which they will play tomorrow!
I do hope they can go further.
I think she is a lovely girl - such a bubbly personality and a lovely smile!
Right, I am now off to rescue dinner from the oven!

Just watched the highlights - how about that for a "what happened next?" - the 1km arch collapsed onto the peleton!

Hello, Elle!
Yes, I am home now.
Had a good old natter with the young ones!
Well done, Andy!
I like Heather, too, and Miss Hingis.
Now will Heather be on after the ladies final?
Hope to see some the tennis tomorrow, but Le Tour is in the Pyrenees tomorrow. Could be fireworks!
And the yellow jersey seems to have given Greg Van Avermaet wings.
That is often the way.
And I hope to see more of those lovely mountain goats!
Dafne won the 100 metres.
