Hi, Rusty!
Yes, that's great news about Jo's making the qualification time for Rio!
Does this mean that she will automatically go......or does she have to wait to see if she is selected?
Any other event/ athlete that I should know about?
You missed some wonderful tennis!
I presume you will know by now that Roger did eventually win.
The Andy Murray v. Jo Tsonga was a great match........some fantastic tennis.
Andy won through, but neither player deserved to lose.
Roger has the harder semi-final, playing Milos Raonic.
Did you get everything done at home that you wanted?

Yes, Chris, a brown one!

You'd have a hard job getting to Barking via the Bakerloo line, Malone!

Thanks,Elle-I picked Barking only because it's been featured in the crosswords a couple of times!

Good morning, Elle.
I only watched TV for several minutes.
The athletics and le Tour.
Will be the same today.
I still have quite a bit to do at home.

Good morning, Rusty!
Another lovely very warm day here!
Just back from my walk.
I think that Jo may well have to wait for the selection panel's decision....there are several prospects for the 10,000 m, including Jess Andrews and Beth Potter.
I know you are busy today.......for me .but should you find yourself with a few minutes to spare.......Martina Hingis and Leander Paes are playing in the Mixed Doubles at 1pm on Court One (I know you like Martina!)
I am out for lunch today, so no tennis for me till tea-time!
Don't work too hard!

Hello, Elle!
Yes, I have just read about Jo's rivals for Rio.
I shall try and look in on Martina, and le Tour.
At present there is the Athletics (mens 800m heats and there are guys sawing wood because of problems at the triple jump. You don't get that on BBC!) and the Scottish Open Golf from Castle Stuart, on TV.
Difficult to get jobs done with these distractions!
I was up on the roof earlier (no fiddle, though!) inspecting slates. Needless to say, La Bamba happened along, and gave me a telling off for climbing ladders!
Hope lunch goes well!

Hi, Rusty! ....... or Tevye !
La Bamba is quite right....!
And if you really "were a rich man", you would have the money and hopefully the common sense to find a tiler / slater to go up on your roof for you!
At least, let Miss La Bamba hold the ladder for you!
I don't want to spoil my lunch by worrying about your falling off ladders!
Off out now......talk later......

Hello, Elle!
One of my pals is a roofer (a top class one) but the problem with him is, he will not take a penny from me for doing a job for me. Just charges for materials used.
I do not like that, hence my amateurish attempt at checking the integrity of my roof.
La Bamba is going on holiday next week so I shall have a fortnight free of nagging!
Granddaughters can be hard work!
I have looked forward on TV Programmer to next week and have discovered that BBC are not covering the Open Golf. A pity!
It is on Sky Sports from 6.35 in the morning!
I decided to have a look at London rail/tube stations on Wikipedia in an effort to keep up with Mr Rogan's setters who all appear to live in Bow or 'Ackney.
There are lots and lots of them (stations).
A good percentage of which I have never heard.

Hi rusty
At least we will be spared the inane patronising commentary from Peter Alliss.

Hello, Chris,
Yes, I am not an Allis fan!
I think he was in favour of Muirfield not letting women become members.
Hope Sky do a good job!
