I find Sky commentaries on the sports I follow far better than terrestrial TV - rugby, cricket, golf. The only exception is cycling, where Eurosport's Sean Kelly's "Yes, well" etc. irritates, which is why I prefer to watch the highlights on ITV4.

Chris, I find Sean boring. ("GIve it 100%,") is one of his more annoying phrases
ITV commentators are much better, I think.
Great scenery today, and fine weather!

I am sure I just saw a couple having a game of draughts on top of a precipice sort of thing.

It is good to see that you are still in one piece after your roof - climbing exploits!
I've come home to find the women's tennis Semi-Finals over with surprisingly quickly!
I imagine the matches must have been somewhat of a disappointment to spectators on Centre Court?
I'm sorry , I misinformed you regarding Martina Hingis...she was playing Ladies' Doubles first.
She is however next on Court One to play Mixed Doubles.
Against Heather Watson and partner.
I had a homophone in The Times QC, to which I took exception this morning.....

Hello Rusty,

It was very hot on the Tour route today !
Mark Cavendish came out of nowhere and managed his second sprint win - great no?
Contador is still not looking too good but at least he was among the first 40 or so runners.

I thought grill and grille for a minute, but think it is horse and hoarse.
I pronounce them differently.
Mr Rogan would likely say 'orse and 'oarse, too.
I did not see Miss Hingis but see she has been beaten.
I have the golf on. Quite breezy up North.
Getting a visitor soon.
My son. Think Miss La Bamba has shopped me!

Were I Miss L-B, I would have "shopped" you, too!
Yes, "horse" and "hoarse" - yes, to me they also sound completely different!
I have just watched an amazing Men's Doubles match.
The Number 1 seeds eventually won , but it was a very close match.
Martina and Leander Paes are now playing Heather and partner. One set all.
I am multi- tasking!
How did the Athletics go? Did you watch much of it?
Anything I should know about?

First day in the Pyrenees tomorrow.
We shall know a bit more about Contador then.
I liked the scenery today, and the weather was very nice too.

My son has returned home.
He mentioned not the roof!
I have not had TV on for a while, so I have not kept up to date with tennis or athletics.
My old Mother always said it was bad manners to have TV on if you have visitors.
Laura Muir is very excited about someone's performance but I do not know who!
My book, "Tommy's Ark" has arrived.
There were over 8 million horses went to France from UK during the Great War.
I hate to think how many did not come back.
