Hello, Pigale.
I have not had the Tour on.
I did not know they were passing Oradour.
I know what happened there.
Read about it many years ago.
A dreadful thing.
You have every right to be angry!

Good evening, Rusty!
My timing this afternoon was excellent! I took the dog out, then came back home to watch the tennis - and found the Bryan twins playing Men's Doubles against Stepanek and Zimonjic.
(But didn't Zimonijc used to play with Daniel Nestor?
I wonder why they are no longer playing together?)
It is a very good match - have a look in, if you aren't doing anything else at present.
Have you not been watching the cycling?
I see from Pigale's post to you that coverage was shown of Oradour- sur- Glace.
I wish I had been watching. I like these historical "bits" of information.
That was such a terrible massacre and quite something for the ruined village to be preserved as a museum and memorial.
Right....back to the tennis...dinner will have to go on hold!

Hello, Elle!
No, I was doing minor repairs about the house today.
No cycling, no tennis, no paper today, so no crossword.
In a way I am glad I missed Oradour.
It would sicken me, I think.
I read a book about it years ago.
But, there is always plenty diversions in the Tour.
One year a horse jumped out of the field and into the peloton causing chaos as he galloped along amongst the riders.
Marcel Kittel won today's stage. Peter Sagan was third and stays in yellow.
Now tomorrow, if you had Eurosport, the European Athletics Championships are on. From 9.30, lasting a lot of the day.
Jo Pavey is running tomorrow.

Hi, Rusty!
I am still watching the Men's Doubles..........talk about being on the edge of my seat....two sets all!
You really are missing a superb match!
I have been searching for coverage for the European Championships, but it seems that Eurosport won exclusive rights to the 2016 Euro Championships!
No wonder there is nothing on the BBC!!! Not even highlights this time!
How frustrating!
Perhaps you will kindly keep me informed?
Is Jo running in the 5,000m or the 10,000m?
I still haven't done my crossword!

Hello, Elle!
High time you got Eurosport!
Eurosport say Jo Pavey is running and Greg Rutherford is jumping.
That is all I know.
But, does not she need a qualifying time in the 10k for Rio?
I imagine it will be the 10,000 metres she is in.
Just saw a "good luck" message for her from Lizzie Armitstead on Twitter.
I would imagine tomorrow morning will be heats etc?
I have just finished crossword online.
It is much better on paper!

Hi, Rusty!
I have a feeling that, so far, Jo lacks the qualifying times for both the 5,000 and the 10,000 distances and so may not make it to Rio?
Perhaps if she is competing in the European Championships, this may be her last opportunity?
I don't know when the deadline is.
Wasn't Jo going to retire after Rio? I wonder what she will decide to do if she fails/ has failed to qualify?
She is what, 43?
At least you have done your crossword , I have yet to start mine!
But first, a coffee and a read of my book, I think.

Hello, Elle,
Maybe find out tomorrow about Jo.
43 is a bit old to be running.
I have a few things to do tomorrow, so there will be little televiewing going on.
Wonder if the Russians are competing?
It would not surprise me!

Hi Rusty!
I read somewhere that Russian track and field athletes who filed individual applications with the IAAF might be allowed to compute in the European Championships.
This sounds like the same thing as competing as a "neutral", that has been sanctioned with regard to Rio?
As you say, we shall see what transpires.
I haven't yet seen tomorrow's Order of Play for Wimbledon, but we are hoping to fit in a visit to the Garden Centre at some point.
I shall almost be glad when the tournament is over, and I can get my life back!!!
