Hello, Pigale,
It looked very hot today.
I felt there was no need for Froome to attack going downhill, although the roads were nice and dry.
Accidents can happen!
Looking forward to tomorrow.
Another scenic day ahead!

Hello, Elle!
I am going to explore "gorilla" meaning a thousand.
Laldy should be in your Chambers.
Giving it laldy means going 110% at something.
Very, very, enthusiastically.
There is a series of codes on this alarm, from 1 beep to 5 beeps. 3 beeps means replace the alarm (not the battery).
Scottish Gas gave me it years ago and I had forgotten about it.
It should be replaced every 5 years, I think.
Yates is going along nicely.
He has the white jersey (for best young rider)
More mountains tomorrow.
The finish is at a ski station in Andorra.

Hello, Eirlys.
Laldie/laldy is in frequent use in Scotland!
I am trying to find out why "gorilla" for "thousand".
Allegedly, "monkey" for £500 comes from a 500 rupee note which had a monkey on it!

Hi, Rusty!
Sorry for the delay in replying........I have been watching the last remaining match at Wimbledon today!
The Williams sisters have just won the Ladies' Doubles' Championship.
It was a brilliant match, neither couple deserved to lose.
I saw a very little of the other Gentlemen's Senior Invitation Doubles Semi -final.
At one stage they had the ball -boys and girls playing!
At another the "Seniors" were playing with a huge tennis ball!
Not as amusing as Bahrami though!
Eltingh and Haarhuis won, and will play the Woodies in the Final tomorrow.
I do hope I have the opportunity to see it!
Have you had any success in tracking down "gorilla " in a monetary sense?
I tried Brewers but to no avail.
I must go and organise some food........we haven't had time to eat and are starving!

Hello, Elle.
Nothing concrete for gorilla.
Only suggestions.
One thousand is a "grand" to me.
G for grand. G for gorilla?
Not keen on that.
You seem to have enjoyed the tennis, anyway.
Just had a violent thunderplump.
It was not forecast, either.
First rain for a while, though.

Hello, Pigale!
News from le Tour.
Chris Froome has been fined for punching a spectator on the last climb today!
Very harsh, I think.

Hi, Rusty!
I think I like your earlier explanation of a "gorilla" best....as in bigger than a "monkey"......£1000 being bigger than £500.
I cannot find anything else yet.
"Thunderplump" is new to me, too!
That isn't in my Chambers or my COD, but I did find in an online Oxford dictionary, telling me it is a Scottish word.
I am increasing my vocabulary this evening!
Yes, I enjoyed my tennis! the Bahrami match put me in the mood for what followed!
I hope tomorrow's matches go well.
I must get up promptly (!) tomorrow and take the dog out by 8am.
Today 's oversleep quite threw me out!!

P. S Yes, but why did Chris Froome punch a spectator? One can't just go around punching folk!
.......and what of Heather Watson's £9,000+ fine for racquet abuse?!
