I don't know much about Manet apart from the famous one. I'm really boring, I like landscapes that are figurative. I think most modern art has a capital F. In Portugal I saw a modern art exhibition- one of the pieces (and it really was; it had a pretentious explanation alongside it) was 5 or 6 different lengths of wood leaning against the wall.
An artist friend gave me a book called "Why your five year old could not have done that". Inside there are plenty of examples of modern art, and quite often the legend reads "even if your five year old could have done that, it would not have the same meaning behind it", Chortle.
