Good morning, Elle!
Another lovely snowless day here!
What puzzles me about the car is it is covered in dust.
An air of neglect about it plus a broken window.
Must have been there a long time.
A bit off the beaten track but I am surprised it had not been reported before. May hear more from the polis today.
Update on Sutton.
Rebecca Romero, ex Olympic and World champion, said she would "not be surprised at anything that comes from that man's mouth". She said she and Wendy Houvenaghel were treated poorly. You may remember Rebecca and Wendy competing for gold and silver against each other in the track pursuit final in Beijing? Wendy qualified as a dentist in Dundee and achieved the rank of squadron leader in the RAF.
She was controversially dropped from the pursuit team, by Sutton, just before the London games.
I am off out for my paper!

Good morning, Rusty!
A glorious day here, too!
Beautiful pale blue sky, and lovely sunshine, but a tad chilly - only 3C!
Just got back from my walk!
Did you take the "scenic" route for your paper?
I remember Rebecca and Wendy, but vaguely.....I didn't watch much of the cycling events.
Wasn't Rebecca also a rower some time back?
Presumably anything the two of them have to offer about Shane Sutton can also be considered in this forthcoming "enquiry"?
It seems to me that a good "shake -up" is indeed required!
I am off to Croydon shortly - by tram! - with a friend to do some shopping before we go to lunch.
I have an M & S gift voucher to spend - a birthday present.
The crossword will have to await my return!
What do you have planned for your day?

Hello, Elle!
Stay away from the shooting today!
Yes, Rebecca is the only British woman to have won medals in two different Olympic sports. She even gave serious thought to trying a third, canoeing, but decided it was not for her.
Wendy has no time for Sutton. He denied her a chance of gold at the London games. The pursuit team went fastest with her in it, but he would not pick her to ride for the gold.
I have no idea how this enquiry will work.
For instance, Jess Varnish is now training as hard as she can, in Melbourne, so is she available for an enquiry? There are at least three riders training away from Manchester because of the atmosphere of bullying and fear that has existed there.
I think it will be a whitewash.
I cleaned the family gravestone earlier and have the skinned knuckles to prove it!
Heading for a walk now.

Hi, Rusty!
All quiet on the Croydon front!
We had a nice day.
I bought a lightweight fitted jacket from M & S (I can still get in a size 10 despite all my lunches out recently!!)
As it was in a Sale, and I also had a voucher, I had very little to contribute towards the cost!
A good bargain!
Regarding the cycling / Shane Sutton enquiry......under the circumstances , wouldn't statements from the athletes involved be accepted as evidence, if they were not able to be present in person due to training/ or performance commitments?
I have no knowledge of the law so this is only a "feeler"?
Mr. R put a special personalised clue in the Times QC for you today......
Out of practice - starts to read up suitable text? Yes. (5)

I was intending to watch the Tour de Yorkshire pass close by tomorrow, with some friends. However the forecast is for rain and 5C temperature, so I think I'll just see the friends, then come home before the roads are closed!

Hello, Elle!
That sounds like a good buy you made.
Good old Mr R!
I have no idea about this enquiry.
I think though, that this carry on with Sutton will make parents think twice about letting their youngsters take part in the British Cycling set-up. Too many allegations of bullying for comfort.
We have a local young lad who is down at Manchester dreaming the dream, and making good progress, I believe.
I would imagine his parents would have a concern, now.
I am looking forward to seeing how Dani King does in the womens race on Saturday. Sutton punted her from the pursuit group and she rides for Wiggle on the road now. She is hoping to get the remaining slot in the road team for Rio. She would be a great help for Lizzie.

Hi, Rusty!
I'm not well up re the cycling situation?
I know Dani King is a big name in the World Championships, but didn't she have a bad crash a while back?
I thought she wasn't going to be riding in the team for Rio?
Please update me - I'm obviously at sea here!
Now...disaster!
I finally caught up with last week's episode of "Scott and Bailey"....only to find that, for some bizarre reason, yesterday's LAST EVER episode of the series did not record!
I am sadly left in limbo.......
I shall have to find out if there is some way of my watching it retrospectively on the computer?
Google and I shall have a conference........

Chris, I thought you were a stalwart supporter of the Tour de Yorkshire?
and usually had friends staying over with you, too, in order to watch it?
You really mean to let a little bit of Northern rain put you off?!

Not the rain itself, elle - it's the cold that's putting me off!

Helloi, Elle!
Yes, Dani had a bad crash and is on the way back.
Think it was broken ribs etc.
The way I understand it, GB is allowed three riders in the road race. It looks as if it will be Lizzie, Emma Poolley (who has came out of retirement) and one more. Dani hopes to get that place.
Do you not have catch up TV?
I do, but I have never used it.
Look at your menu?
Maybe on YouTube?
We have a blizzard here!
Heavy snow.
If you look at the osprey site Lassie appears not to like the snow!
