Hello, Elle!
The marathon coverage was/is excellent.
Callum of Kilbarchan Harriers was super!
Great crowds supporting the runners, too!
Well done, Londoners!
I noticed they were all well wrapped up!
I just saw a girl running the in the opposite direction?
Could be very dangerous, surely?
I was hoping to see Princess Kate out watching, but no.
I have the cycling to watch, now.
Liege-Bastogne-Liege.
Last of the Spring Classics.

Hi, Rusty!
We have just got back from our walk!
Luckily, we took note of the way all the spectators of the Marathon were wrapped up, and dressed ourselves accordingly!
Goodness, it was cold!
I have read that there has been snow in the Ardennes, and consequently the cycle race has had to be re-routed.
I understand that the course has been reduced by about 5 Km?
How is the cycling going?
I trust no major disasters?

Hello, Elle!
Not too far to go now. About 18kms.
They had snow a few minutes ago.
No, the racing is as normal.
The odd crash here and there.
Roads are wet and slippy.
Fine day up here!

Hi, Rusty!
I'm sorry for the long gap in replying..........I expect your cycling is well - finished by now?
Did it have a satisfactory outcome for you?
Did you have a bet placed?
I have had a visitor!
My friend - back from ten weeks in Australia - arrived without warning on my doorstep!
It was lovely to see her.
She has had a very hard time coping with her brother's illness (he had a stroke) but he is now making (slow) progress and she is able to come back to England..
She has only just gone home!
She left of course with an empty fish tank (!) - but tells me she is going to buy more fish!
You say that BGT was very disappointing this week?
I did record the first hour of it (before recording "Casualty" instead) but may not bother watching it if you don't think it worth while?
I have enough "catch up " as it is!
I've still got "Scott and Bailey" to watch from last Wednesday.......

Hello, Elle,
Yes, cycling over.
Wout Poels (Team Sky) won.
I am looking forward to Tour de Yorkshire on Friday.
It is on ITV4 if you have it.
I was disappointed in BGT this week, but panel and audience were happy with the acts.
I do not like bellowing women.
Singing should be melodic!
Did your friend approve of your funeral arrangements for her deceased goldfish?

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, I have ITV4 on Freeview.
I find it hard to credit that I have never been to Yorkshire, yet I lived only the only side of the Pennines!
I may "look in" to see the scenery...but don't like watching cycling, as you know.
Doesn't the race start from the town where Lizzie lives? I'm sure I read that somewhere?
I am reading one of the books I ordered from Amazon - it is partially about tracking wolves, that have been released into the wild to help propagate the species in other (wolf) desolate areas.
It is a fictional story, but the author, Nicholas Evans, thanks several other authors for references that he has used from their " non -fiction" books.
Didn't you read a book about releasing wolves back into Scotland? or am I having another "senior moment"?
(Are you ever going to let me forget about the fish's funeral arrangements?!
No, I didn't tell her!)

Hello, Elle!
Yes, the women's race starts from Otley, Lizzie's home town.
Finish in Doncaster. Saturday morning.
It is sponsored by ASDA.
I saw a short video of the townsfolk wishing her well.
After all, she is their World Champion.
It is called "Allez Lizzie!"
My wolf book is by Jim Crumley, a local man.
I have not finished it, yet.

Hi, Rusty!
The book references I have about wolves are somewhat outdated, I think, but they appear to have good reviews.
They are all about reintroducing wolves to their former habitats in American wilderness areas.
So possibly very different from your book about reintroducing wolves into Scotland?
It isn't a subject about which I know very much.
I may be a little wiser after reading my new book - although the wolf situation is, in a sense, only a secondary plot.
I think I shall have a break now from reading and try to catch up with "Casualty"......
