Hello, Elle!
The lads on Eurosport explained about the motorbikes one time.
Sometimes the choppers cannot fly due to weather/cloud conditions, especially when in the mountains.
I do not think Lydia is playing this week.
Another of my favourites, Jim Furyk, returns next week.
He has been out eight months with a wrist injury.
I think David's Mum is deputising for Simon Cowell this week.
BGT is repeated several times during the week.
I was not keen on it last week.
Alesha is in tears with someone singing this week.
I am not keen on singers on that show.
Better with knife-throwing hamsters or some other slightly out of the norm acts.

Hi, Rusty!
I did watch a little of BGT - but I am recording the programmes this evening to look at later.
Probably you haven't watched it yet, so I will not comment on any of the acts so far seen.....other than to say that David Wallaims' mum was very funny!
She was somewhat buzzer happy!
Simon arrived a little late.
I'm going to vote for the knife-throwing hamster............
A busy day now organised for tomorrow!
Younger daughter , son-in-law, BB and baby are coming over for the day.
We shall all go out with the dog, and probably BB's bike or scooter!
So I am hoping for a fine day.

Good morning, Rusty!
I'm not sure if you are about?
Don't tell me you have had a "lie -in"?!!
I have been up since 6 am!
Everyman crossword all done and dusted (well, I'm unsure of one....but I'm still thinking about it!)
We are just waiting on daughter and family to arrive, and then we are all off out for the day.
It is another glorious day here, although still not very warm.
But sunshine - and fine - will do me nicely!
What are you up to?

Good afternoon, Elle!
Yes, I am about!
I was up quite early, too.
My day of rest from a crossword!
Cloudy here.
BGT was a bit so-so again.
I had a longish walk in the morning.
That is it for the day.
Just waiting on the 1000 Guineas to be run at Newmarket.

Hello Rusty !
Thanks for telling me the good news - I must admit that I do not watch much sport, just the Tour de France (particularly mountain stages both for sport and scenery) and Rugby 6 Nations. What team is he in this year?

He should be given some Lilly of the Valley since the 1st May in France is Lilly of the Valley Day - apart from Labour Day.

Hope your weather has improved; very sunny today, but a bit of Northern wind; should get really warmer by Tuesday I think.

How long before the ospreys eggs hatch? I know its about 18 days after laying for tits, so is it about the same? My little bird is busy constantly turning her 13 eggs - she is barely big enough to cover them all and has to move some on top of others!

Hello, Pigale!
His team is called Direct Energie.
I take bad seeing him without the Europcar colours!
He received plenty of gifts on the podium, believe me!
Bernard Hinault was there, too.
I have not heard of Lily of the Valley day?
Is it a special day in France?
Been a dull day here, but brightening up a bit now.
As far as I know it is 30 days for osprey eggs to hatch, so a wee while to go, yet.
13 eggs! Wow!
I hope they all hatch and survive!

Hello again, Pigale!
Just been reading the osprey blog and discovered that today is International Dawn Chorus Day!
Another "day" new to me!

Hi Rusty,

The tit that was here last year also laid 13 eggs, out of which 11 hatched and all flew off the nest - hope they made it all the way !

Re Lilly of the Valley Day - as far as I know it has been a custom in France since early 20th Century for the flower to be associated with Spring and International Labour Day organisers took it as their symbol. The tradition still remains whereby there is Lilly of the Valley being sold at every street corner, and every one offers a small bouquet to family members, close friends, but also shop keepers may offer one or two of the delicate flower to their faithful customers;

In fact I am pretty sure that firms like Super U would have given one small flower to every woman shopper this morning, in the same manner as they give a rose on Mothering Sunday.

The Duchess of Cambridge was holding a bouquet of Lilly of the Valley as her wedding flowers.

Hello, Pigale!
That sounds like a very nice tradition you have in France!
I had never heard of it.
Mind you, there is an abundance of things I have never heard of!
Now, the Duchess of Cambridge?
Is that Kate?
I did not know about her bouquet, but I like Kate!
Is this year's tit the same one as last year?
13 eggs in a clutch is a lot!
