Hi, Rusty!
Guess what?
I have just received an email from Amazon, telling me that World of Books has already dispatched my order!
That was certainly quick, wasn't it?
I am having to pay full price for the other two books though, as they will be new issues.
I think one comes out in June and the other in September.
My daughter is coming over tomorrow with the baby.
I think I shall take her out to lunch to celebrate BB's getting into their first choice of school!
She has worried about the outcome so much, that I think she deserves a little 'light relief'!

Hello, Elle!
Very quick...as normal!
No messing with World of Books!
Oh, the baby is visiting you. Very good!
What have you done with the fish that died on you?
I have a bike race to watch tomorrow.
Fleche Wallone from Belgium.
There was a clue in the Times today that mentioned Kent.
Did not understand it, either.
"Gas in eastern district of Kent in short supply (6)"
I have "ethane".
Where does district of Kent come in?

I have to dive in, I know the district - Thanet! It's E/east Thane(t), short supply.

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, we see a lot of our younger daughter and family, as they do not live all that far away from us...about 40 minutes drive.
And of course while she is on maternity leave , it gives us a lot more time to spend together, which is very nice.
The fish.......what would you have had me do......?
I wrapped it up in newspaper and then put it in a plastic bag in the dustbin.
I thought this was the safest way to dispose of it?
I didn't want to bury the body in the garden and then have the dog, or cat, or even maybe a fox dig it up...and possible eat it.
We don't even know the cause of death, so I wouldn't want another animal to touch it.
Now, the clue......no, I wouldn't expect you to understand it as you don't know Kent.
"Gas in eastern district of Kent in short supply (6)"
"ethane" is correct.
"e" obviously from Eastern.
"thane" comes from Thane (t) - the isle of Thanet (in short supply)
Mr. R is expecting too much !

Hello, Elle!
You put the lately deceased fish in the bin?
Have you no feelings at all?
Whatever will his family think?
Cru-Elle!
I thought you would inter him in the garden by the hawthorn bush? Oh dear!
There is a teeny tinkle of a little bell in the back of my mind regarding Thanet.
So it's in Kent? Are you sure?
I had an idea it was near Bristol?
No, I would say it is a fair clue.
Unlike Frith Street, and oath, etc!

Thanks for that, Malone!

Hi, Rusty!
Now would you have me upset the little people by burying the fish by the hawthorn tree?
It might distress their sensibilities, so it might?
And then how could I go out and hug the tree .......I might end up standing on the fish's grave?
No, seriously, for health reasons I think my disposal was the safest!
But you 're worrying me now....perhaps my friend might not think so....?
Look what you've done...I shall probably have a sleepless night!
(Of course I am sure that Thanet is in Kent!)

Hello, Elle!
Be wary of the little people!
Especially when there is an "r" in the month.
Mr R would be perfectly happy if his setters pronounced Thanet as Fanet.
I will look for it on the map tomorrow.
Going to watch Vitaly Voronko for a wee while!

Good morning, Rusty!
What a beautiful day! Blue sky with nary a cloud in sight!
I hope it is as lovely as this for you?
Dog and I had a great walk in the park....had someone been willing to bring me a coffee and a bacon buttie, I would willingly have stayed there in the warm sunshine!
Mind you, the dog would have wanted to get home for her breakfast!
And daughter and baby are coming over here shortly.
I feel that a celebration is called for in view of the pleasing schools' allocation, so we are going out for lunch.
I have already dealt with two machine loads of washing since I came home.........I am on a roll this morning!
Time now for a coffee and the crosswords.......

Hello Elle,

Glorious day here too - temp already 19C but with an Easterly breeze.

The little tit in the nest box above my garage door has now produced 12 eggs (!) and is starting her incubating job. Last year there were 13 eggs, 11 of which did hatch - it was a little crowded in there, particularly towards the end when they were quite grown. I am looking forward to them hatching and watch Mum and Dad come and go to feed them !
