Hi, Rusty!
I have "bitten the bullet" and emailed my friend to tell her of the demise of her goldfish!
Along with my abject apologies........ (although in fact there was little I could have done about it, as I cared for it to the best of my ability)
I figured it was best she knew now, than came home expecting to find it alive and well.
My own goldfish is 26 this year, so I have to be doing something right somewhere!
Yes, excellent news about BB's school allocation!
We never expected to get our first choice! especially as there is only a one class intake - 30 places - at this particular school.
Such a relief!
As you say, we can all relax now!

Hello, Elle!
Yes, I am certain you did your very best by the goldfish.
Not to worry!
Worse things happen at sea, as my old auntie used to say!
Will you buy another to soften the blow for her?
Has she responded to your email?

Good morning, Rusty!
A fine day if a little cloudy. A tad warmer!
How is it in your neck of the woods?
No, I haven't yet heard back from my friend in Australia.
She is spending most of her time at the hospital by her brother's bedside - he has had a stroke.
I'm afraid that the goldfish is the least of her worries.
She sends messages (or rings) from her phone - and the signal is bad a lot of the time.
Elder daughter's birthday today! I have just been speaking to her on the telephone!
Have you been out for your paper?
What plans do you have for the day?
I am going out soon to have my hair trimmed.

Good day to you, Elle!
Happy haircut!
Beautiful day here.
I have been to skips and ASDA.
Going for a walk later.
There is an article in my local paper about the ospreys.
Lassie chased off two intruding crows yesterday!
And, surprisingly to me, there are around 240 breeding pairs in the UK.

Good afternoon, Rusty!
Yes, glorious here , too - the sun is shining brilliantly!
What have you been throwing away in the skip this time?
I'm looking in on the ospreys regularly, although I haven't observed anything startling.
It is amazing that Lassie 'turns' the eggs though!
Did you enjoy your walk? Where did you go?
And now I am going to follow in your footsteps....not quite literally, but in the concept of a walk......this sunshine is too lovely to waste!

Good evening, Elle!
Hope nothing died with you today!
Took bits of wood to skip.
Very nice update to blog by Vanessa!
Had a brisk walk around the golf course.
Was a smashing day here.
Ordered a book on bootlegging from Amazon/World of Books.
Gets good reviews!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, I too have read the blog........and keep checking in on Lassie!
No further news anywhere on Hamish McDuck?
I guess sad news for Aunt Rhody!
Your book sounds interesting....... I hope it comes soon!
Yesterday, I ordered four books from Amazon.
Two are from World of Books ( I always go with them if possible) and cost me 1p each, plus p&p.
I've chosen "The Loop" and "The Brave", both by Nicholas Evans.
And then I have pre-ordered books by Sebastian Faulks and Jeffrey Archer that aren't out until later in the year.
I still have some money left in my account!
I think I have done well?

Hello, Elle!
It is hard to get through your account credit when books are a penny each!
My first choice is World of Books, too.
May order another couple.
No news of Hamish, unfortunately.
Aunt Rhody would be demented!
I watched a recorded TV programme from NI earlier.
"Keeping it Country", I think it was.
It was about jiving and jiving competitions.
Was very good. They are mad keen on jiving over there!
The blog by Vanessa was very well written I thought.

Hi, Rusty!
Guess what?
I have just received an email from Amazon, telling me that World of Books has already dispatched my order!
That was certainly quick, wasn't it?
I am having to pay full price for the other two books though, as they will be new issues.
I think one comes out in June and the other in September.
My daughter is coming over tomorrow with the baby.
I think I shall take her out to lunch to celebrate BB's getting into their first choice of school!
She has worried about the outcome so much, that I think she deserves a little 'light relief'!

Hello, Elle!
Very quick...as normal!
No messing with World of Books!
Oh, the baby is visiting you. Very good!
What have you done with the fish that died on you?
I have a bike race to watch tomorrow.
Fleche Wallone from Belgium.
There was a clue in the Times today that mentioned Kent.
Did not understand it, either.
"Gas in eastern district of Kent in short supply (6)"
I have "ethane".
Where does district of Kent come in?
