Hi Elle, there were no posts asking for help with the Times GK which is no doubt due to someone posting virtually all the answers :( let's hope this is not repeated

Hi Eirlys,

You know, I never ask for any help with the Times GK - and yet I am a foreigner; but there are many other ways of getting an answer which escapes you - just a little researching quite often helps ;)

Hi Pigale I am impressed by your knowledge, especially as I have seen you also solving cryptic crosswords

Good morning, Eirlys.
This thing about the use of ad blockers has been covered before on this site.
Most of us understand the pros and cons of allowing ads.
If I remember correctly, Ash asked for views on it.
I was/am prepared to pay a small fee if the site was free of ads, but I think I was in a minority.
Until there is a better solution I will continue to use Ublock or a browser which blocks ads.

Hello, Elle!
I like the Huntingdon clue!
There is a good programme on television tomorrow night that Mr Rogan will enjoy.
It is all about the Tube system in London.
How it was built etc etc.
I am going to record it as I find the engineering side of it fascinating.
And I may learn a name or two for future reference!
There did seem to be a lack of requests for help on the Jumbo, yes.
Was it easier?
I think it is ads that pay for the site, but I am no expert.
I am sure Ash explained it some time ago.
Cycling has just came on, they are halfway through the race and several crashes already, but the weather is great in Flanders.

Hi, Rusty!
How is your cycling going?
I don't think I would like to watch cycling on a regular basis - there are far too many crashes and sometimes serious /fatal injuries.
A hard sport!
I enjoyed le Tour de France last Summer - but more for my trying to understand the way it all worked - which you explained magnificently! - and for the beautiful countryside, than for the sport itself.
Give me Athletics or tennis any day!
Roll on Summer when we shall have more viewing of both!
The Tube programme sounds interesting......I shall look it up in my TV guide.
The sun is still shining, so we are now about to go out and enjoy it...........

Hello, Elle!
Do you receive BBC4 in Bromley?
Monday, 11.00 p.m.
"The Tube: An Underground History."
No, cycle racing is an acquired taste, especially in UK.
Very popular on the Continent, though.
The Tour of Flanders is a major event.
My all time favourite race is next Sunday.
Paris-Roubaix! "The Hell of the North"!
Live in Eurosport from 9.15 a.m.
Many crashes today.
Broken bikes and patched up riders everywhere!
I hope Cancellara wins. This is his final year racing.

Elle!,
Lizzie has just won the women's Tour of Flanders!
She outsprinted Emma Johansen.
Great stuff by the Yorkshire lass!
