Good evening, Rusty!
We are now experiencing a lovely evening! These lighter nights are great, aren't they?
Never been in a maze? Well, I have only once been in the one at Hampton Court - and that was very funny because this little kid had climbed something that elevated him above everyone around (a nearby tree, perhaps, I cannot remember ?) and he kept on shouting out instructions as to which way we should turn!
We did get out of there eventually!
Lassie has made all the newly acquired moss disappear! I think she must be weaving it in amongst the twigs - or poking it into holes.
We are deciding on plans for tomorrow........

Pigale, according to the accounts I have read, Ronnie Corbett was 85.
He didn't look it, did he?

Hello, Elle!
I wonder where the moss goes?
She was moving a big stick earlier.
Intriguing!
No news of Hamish.
Have you decided on tomorrow's trip?

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, we have decided to go to a children's zoo!
This is not the kind of "zoo" where animals are kept in cages, but consists of 32 acres of land over which there are to be found cows, pigs, goats, donkeys, lamas and alpacas, small animals (guinea pigs, rabbits etc), aviaries, ducks , geese, turkeys , what-have-you!
Oh, and stables!
If I've missed anything out, I will tell you tomorrow !
I am sure the kids will love it!
It also involves going on a mainline train, and then the Docklands Light Railway, so that in itself will be an adventure for them!
We are all going, but will meet younger daughter, son-in -law, BB and baby there, as they will approach it from a different direction.
All we need now is a nice day..........so fingers crossed!

Hello, Elle!
Sounds a good day out!
What, pray, is Docklands Light Railway?
Yes, hope the weather is dry for you all.
I have no plans for tomorrow.
Granddaughters are all working etc, so Pine Cone is a fading memory!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, it should be good fun!
To answer your question........
The DLR is an automated light metro system . It was opened in 1987 to serve the London Docklands area.
"Automated" means that there are NO train drivers!!!
The train "goes by itself"!
There is a minimal number of staff on the train but no one is in the cab.
There are "train attendants" who travel on the train but who move around rather than sitting in the front.
They look after the opening of the doors.
If the system breaks down, though. then they are expected to operate the train.
(There are a few tube lines where this principle also works but there is always someone in the cab there , even though they are not "driving" the trains, but only operating the doors)
Goodness, look at the time!.... I am away to my bed!
Talk tomorrow!

Good morning, Elle.
It was the "light" part of the railway I pondered.
It sounds very modern.
I did not know systems like that existed.
"Metro"? What does that mean? An abbreviation?
Hope your day goes well, anyway!

Hello Rusty,

A brighter day here;

I always thought that our Metro was the equivalent of London Tube; it is short for Metropolitain.

Ospreys look fine, but it is very windy up there!

Good morning, Pigale!
Ah! I knew what the Paris Metro was.
Just wondered about the London one.
I think the nest is near the shore of the loch so will be quite exposed. It is also very noisy there!
I do not have very good weather today.
Wet and dismal!

Hi, Rusty!
We are all back home again!
We have had a great day!
The weather was superb....blue sky, sunshine, and WARM!
The journey to the park and zoo went well - much excitement when the children realised that there was no driver in the cab of the DLR train!!
The place itself was great....I think I said that there were 32 acres of land? and various breeds of animals were grazing everywhere......
There was what was termed a "Contact Area", where there were goats, sheep, rabbits, guinea pigs and the like that the children could feed (with specially bought food so that nothing harmful was given to the animals) and also stroke and pet.
I especially liked the goats!
Even the refreshment courtyard was well provided with plenty of different sized tables (some with large umbrellas over them) and there was plenty of room for visitors.
And of course, as it was so warm ,sitting out in the sun was delightful!
The choice of venue was a great success!
We shall go again sometime!
What sort of a day have you had? did you get out for a walk?
