That next looks quite impressive as it is, but I say Lassie still arranging twigs and moss etc earlier in the day. She has left the nest just now.

I thought Hamish had been sighted by the Loch, but too close to the osprey for him to be reunited with his mistress?

Gone wet and cooler now - not nice.

We are now experiencing a lovely evening! These lighter nights are great, aren't they?
Never been in a maze? Well, I have only once been in the one at Hampton Court - and that was very funny because this little kid had climbed something that elevated him above everyone around (a nearby tree, perhaps, I cannot remember ?) and he kept on shouting out instructions as to which way we should turn!
We did get out of there eventually!
Lassie has made all the newly acquired moss disappear! I think she must be weaving it in amongst the twigs - or poking it into holes.
We are deciding on plans for tomorrow........



Pigale, according to the accounts I have read, Ronnie Corbett was 85.

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, we have decided to go to a children's zoo!
This is not the kind of "zoo" where animals are kept in cages, but consists of 32 acres of land over which there are to be found cows, pigs, goats, donkeys, lamas and alpacas, small animals (guinea pigs, rabbits etc), aviaries, ducks , geese, turkeys , what-have-you!
Oh, and stables!
If I've missed anything out, I will tell you tomorrow !
I am sure the kids will love it!
It also involves going on a mainline train, and then the Docklands Light Railway, so that in itself will be an adventure for them!
We are all going, but will meet younger daughter, son-in -law, BB and baby there, as they will approach it from a different direction.
All we need now is a nice day..........so fingers crossed!

To answer your question........
The DLR is an automated light metro system . It was opened in 1987 to serve the London Docklands area.
"Automated" means that there are NO train drivers!!!
The train "goes by itself"!
There is a minimal number of staff on the train but no one is in the cab.
There are "train attendants" who travel on the train but who move around rather than sitting in the front.
They look after the opening of the doors.
If the system breaks down, though. then they are expected to operate the train.
(There are a few tube lines where this principle also works but there is always someone in the cab there , even though they are not "driving" the trains, but only operating the doors)

It sounds very modern.
I did not know systems like that existed.
"Metro"? What does that mean? An abbreviation?

I always thought that our Metro was the equivalent of London Tube; it is short for Metropolitain.

Ospreys look fine, but it is very windy up there!
