Good evening, Elle!
You'll be fine with World of Books!
That's right, the matchmaking takes place at Lisdoonvarna.
Willie Daly is the famous matchmaker.
Used to be a great music festival there, too.
That is good news about your daughter!

Hi, Rusty!
I just cannot understand how any member of W.o.B's staff could post off a book in so filthy a condition?
I have put it back into its envelope and dropped the entire package into a polythene bag.....which I then sealed, awaiting judgement!
Then I scrubbed my hands!
This shows you just how dirty the book is!
Annoyingly, I have a second book also due to come from them...I am dreading that it, too, will be in a similar state.
I doubt I shall use that company again.
There are several other firms whose books have arrived in excellent condition.
I am now going to have a coffee and watch "Murder"!

Hello, Elle!
What condition was the book advertised to be?
I think the folk at W o B would be very annoyed to hear of a book as you describe being sent to a customer.
They must have some sort of quality assessment standards to maintain, I'd say.
There are plenty of other book traders, though.
Hope "Murder" appeals to you!

Hi, Rusty!
The book was reported to be in "Very Good" condition.
I rarely buy a book described as being anything less than that.
I should have thought that the packer wouldn't want to handle it , either!
I have a few other "favourite" sellers........I shall buy from them in future.
W.o.B has lost a regular customer, now, I am afraid.
I am halfway through watching "Murder".....I am enjoying it!
But had to stop to do something else.
I am about to go back to it......

Hello, Elle!
Very strange!
A filthy book described as "Very Good".
Seems a bit odd to me.
The packer must have realised it was not "Very Good".
I got an email a few years ago from Julie's Books saying that the book I ordered was not, in their opinion, in a fit condition to sell, and they apologised, and refunded my money.
I have just watched "Wild Atlantic Way".
It was in Clare and I enjoyed it.
On to Galway next week!

Where would I find "Wild Atlantic Way", rusty? I know Clare quite well, and Galway to an extent - we visited Tuam, home of the Saw Doctors, and Cong, home of The Quiet Man!

Hello, Chris!
"Wild Atlantic Way" is a four part series running on BBC Alba, the Scots Gaelic television station.
Started last week, when Anne Lundon, the presenter, travelled through, Cork, and Kerry.
It is available on BBC iPlayer.

Thanks very much, rusty. Is it in English, or do you speak Gaelic?

I may have mentioned that my Welsh grandmother thought that she could speak French, as she could chat with the "French onion sellers" who touted their onions around the valleys. However they were Bretons, and speaking a language almost the same as Welsh!

Hi, Rusty!
Quite so!
And to compound the felony, I have now received an email from World of Books asking for two photographs of the book!
How on earth am I expected to do that?
My mobile cannot perform "tricks"!
I fear I am about to lose my temper....!
Do they really think I am going to lie about the condition of a book that only cost me £2-96?!
I consider this a disgrace......
I shall email them back with my poor opinion of their services!
On to "Murder...."...
I found that very interesting...... and was pleased that the investigators reached the decision that the conviction was "unsafe".
That poor man and his family!
I am glad you enjoyed this week's "Wild Atlantic Way"!
I presume I can find it on BBC iPlayer again, and can watch it?

I can never think of Galway, without thinking of Bing!

Hello, Chris,
No, it is in Gaelic, but there are sub-titles, and much of the conversations Anne has with locals are in English.
You would have no problem following it.
Last week in Kerry, Anne spoke Scots Gaelic to a local man who responded in Irish, and they understood each other quite easily.
They were discussing the Spanish Armada!
