Good morning, Elle!
It is cloudy but dry in my neck of the woods.
I am just home.
Nipped out to ASDA for my paper.
No improvement, but no worse.
Though I think the antibiotics attack everything when chasing these bugs!
I don't think the home delivery is for me, Elle.
Could your daughters give you advice re the home deliveries?
My ASDA closes at 6.00 p.m. this evening.
Yes, I have my puzzle now, too.
And I am going to watch Carol of the Drum to see what else is going on....or not!
Does the wee man playing the triangle only have that to do, I wonder?
Giving the triangle a wee ding every so often?
It's a fascinating video, alright!

Hi, Rusty!
It is still raining here...the forecast was correct!
Well, I suppose your feeling no worse is some sort of improvement, if a static one!
Now I'm not sure that statement makes sense...but you will know what I mean!
My husband is abed, and fast asleep when I just checked.
Hopefully, the rest will help.......
Yes, my daughters both use a home delivery service.....I think from Tesco...but I prefer Sainsbury's.
I shall consult with them at some stage.....
I have both the washing machine and the tumbler drier going at the moment....I shall toddle down to Sainsbury's about 2 pm ......
Like your Asda , the shop is open till 6 pm.

Hello, Elle!
I have but a few aches and pains.
Nothing to worry about!
Hope you get on fine at Sainsbury's.
Ask when you are there about their delivery service?
Should be fairly straightforward, surely.

Hi, Rusty!
Sainsbury's was a doddle!
The shop was virtually empty...both of shoppers and of food.
I bought a 4 pint container of milk, plus a few edible items for meals for the next few days.
(We still have stuff in our freezer)
All easily pulled home in my shopping trolley.
The rain even obligingly stopped for the duration of my shopping trip!
And Sainsbury's have sent me an email, welcoming me as a new online customer to their store.
With instructions on how to proceed, as written for the simple -minded!
So I should be all right there!
Your aches and pains will hopefully pass soon......

Hello, Elle!
You got on fine at Sainsbury's, I see.
I have plenty grub, too.
I don't have a freezer, though.
Are you going to try Sainsbury's home delivery scheme?
No harm finding out how it works.
I don't expect aches and pains to go, but they are no problem.

Good evening, Rusty!
We have just had dinner......breaded haddock, cheesey potatoes, and mushy peas!
Delicious!
And all purchased at Sainsbury's this afternoon.
Yes, I shall try the Home Delivery service at some point....just so that I know what to do if necessary.
My daughter (with whom I have just been chatting) tells me that once one has established a "core" shopping list , this can be accessed again as one's "Favourites".
This sounds a good , time -saving idea, doesn't it?
You are right though in that there is a delivery fee.
It seems to be around the £3 to £4 mark, depending on which day and what time.
I got about half way through the crossword, but time defeated me!
Too much to do.....and not enough hours in the day in which to do it!

Good evening, Elle!
Your tea sounds great!
I had macaroni, cheese, and bacon.
I have heard something like your daughter is saying, that the programme reminds you of things you have bought previously, so you won't forget to order.
I am sure that would be helpful.
I read that Waitrose delivery is free, but the minimum spend is £60.
No Waitrose around here.
Always another puzzle tomorrow!

Hi, Rusty!
As a rule, I prefer to "see" what I am buying - say when picking fruit or vegetables, or cuts of meat - but I guess if one were simply bulk buying, such a toilet rolls, paper towels, sugar, milk and common amenities that do not require a personal choice, then online shopping would be fine.
But my parsimonious soul regrets paying out for delivery, so long as I have the strength to fetch it myself!
I am missing the daily "Eggheads " dosage over the festive period!

Hello, Elle!
It would not suit me.
I go to shop every day, except Sunday.
Perhaps, when I am infirm, I would use the home delivery.
I would be happy to pay for the service, just like paying for other things.
There are hundreds of episodes of Eggheads on YouTube.
I have been reading up on the Tabernacle Choir, and the orchestra.
Where they stand according to their voice and appearance.
How their clothes are made etc.
I found it interesting!

Hi, Rusty!
I guess I am thinking of a home delivery as a loss of independence, whereas of course it is used by many people as simply a convenience.
And yes, you are right, it is probably worth a payment for the service rendered.
And just think of what else one might do in the time taken up by shopping.
I think perhaps as one grows older , one needs to re-evaluate one's priorities.
Take stock of where one is at, and re-think........
Time soon for New Year Resolutions.....
Hmm.....
And definitely time now for a coffee!
