Good afternoon, Elle!
Glad to hear you had a splendid evening!
You can't beat family!
Yes, great to have a yarn with my pal.
Yes, it's Li, the lad who rode from here to Alicante.
Next year it is here to Moscow.
He may have to brush up on his 7 down!
He is going to do a job for me next week.
Finished the puzzle.
5a, 24a, 25a, are new to me.
I liked 28a, 11a, and 21d (the northern one puzzled me for a bit!).

Hi, Rusty!
I am just home - in the dark! - from a walk with the dog.
It was still reasonably light as we left the park...but is almost pitch black now!
I have been late in doing everything today!
Still chasing that proverbial tail.......
Good for Lionel....but Russia seems a long, long way.....
Is he going with the same group of friends?
Yes, I, too, have completely finished the crossword....answers, plus parsings!
How about that?
I have seen "little 'un " written down in books ....I did not know it was especially Northern?
I did not come across it , myself, when living "up north" until my early twenties!
I wonder how my daughter is faring with transport home, London Bridge station being closed because of the dreadful terrorist action.
It sounds really dreadful - a lot of people injured - from what I have been hearing on the car radio.
I know my daughter is okay, as she texted me earlier...but I have not heard from her since then..
She may well be stuck somewhere.......

Hello, Elle!
I'll find out more from Li next week.
I don't know if the other lads are going, or not.
Well done on completing the puzzle!
I took 'un to be a Northern word.
As you say, a little 'un, or a good 'un.
I have been watching the incident on London Bridge on the news.
Just terrible!
There will be lots of hold-ups with transport across London, I think.
Hopefully your daughter will get home safe.
Miss La Bamba is in London, as well.
There to see Lewis Capaldi (I think he sings) somewhere.

Good evening, Rusty!
Yes, the London Bridge terrorist attack sounds absolutely awful.......
I have been reading about it on the computer.
I shall watch the ten o' clock News later, too.
I haven't been able to contact my daughter......but she may not have reception if she is travelling home by a different route.
She would normally, of course, be travelling via London Bridge.
Hopefully, she will be in touch soon.
Whereabouts in London is Miss L-B?
Have you heard from her?

Hello, Elle!
It has become much colder here.
More frost etc on the way.
The London Bridge tube station is closed and that will have a knock on effect on the rest of the transport systems in London.
This any help?https://www.nationalrail.co.uk/service_disruptions/today.aspx

I don't know where La Bamba is.
Not heard from her since she left, but she has texted her Dad.
He was here earlier.

Hi, Rusty!
Thankfully, my daughter has texted.
It was very brief - no details of how she got home; just that she was there - but she would be busy putting the boys to bed.
I shall hear more about it tomorrow.
At least she is okay, and home safely!
It is good that your granddaughter also texted her dad......you will all have been worried about her.
It is a bad time for her to have visited London.
Nice for you and your son to catch up...….
Yes, it is becoming very cold here, too!
1C overnight apparently and only 2C tomorrow morning, when I shall be going out!

Hello, Elle!
Reassuring news about your daughter!
I had forgotten Miss L-B was visiting London!
But, she's fine, apparently.
My son is very busy just now, so it was good of him to call.
And he brought me a beef curry from the butcher!
I'll have it for my tea tomorrow.
Minus 2 here. Chilly!

Hello, Elle!
Good you have heard from your daughter.
I think there have been three stabbings at The Hague.
They don't know if it is to do with terrorism or not.
Nobody arrested so far.
Two killed in the London Bridge attack, plus the attacker was shot dead.
Do you not have a 24 hour news channel to keep up with things?
I have Sky News and BBC News 24 and a few others.

Hi, Rusty!
I have been watching the Ten O'clock News on the BBC, but have learned very little in addition to what I already knew.
It seems the terrorist was a released previous prisoner charged with earlier terrorist attacks.
It beggars belief...….why ever was he released, then?
And The Hague attacker is still at large!
It sounds too much of a coincidence for the two events not to be related?
