I've been watching the U23 road race with interest, as I know the roads well (though not on my bike.....)
Sunday comes as close to me as all week, at Skipton. I think I'll watch it on TV, though.

A pity about the weather forecast, Chris.
The race is 177 miles, so a long wet day in the saddle!

Yes - I'm supposed to be golfing in the morning, but I'm hoping for a cancellation!

Good evening, Rusty!
It is raining cats, dogs and pink elephants here!
Today's Athletics is just winding down.
I have had a great afternoon watching!
No, I know you do not like Lynsey Sharp......that is why I thought you might be interested to learn that she was "out" of the Championships!
( There is no "Eggheads" for the duration of the World Championships! )
You will be looking forward to seeing the cycling tomorrow, and Sunday.
I hope there will be some improvement in the weather, but it looks unlikely......
By all accounts, this rain looks set to last spasmodically over the U, for a week or so.
You will have been pleased to see your son!
How did they like the house that they went to view yesterday?

Hello, Elle!
Rain stopped here!
Yes, was fine seeing my young lad.
They liked the house.
It needs a bit doing to it, but they are fine with that.
Poor crowds at the athletics.
I am not surprised, though, considering where they are held.
I don't know anybody who likes Lynsey Sharp.
What does "over the U" mean?
I am looking forward to the elite women racing tomorrow.
Lizzie Armitstead is looking for a home win on her own turf, but the Dutch girls are good!
We shall see!

Hi, Rusty!
Oops! I missed off a "K"!
That should have read "over the UK".
Yes, I noticed that the Athletics stadium looked partly empty......perhaps more people will attend as the week goes on?
It has the potential to be a good Championships!
I am not sure when Laura Muir races.
Is she doubling up?
That is good that your son and daughter-in-law like the house.
So are they planning to move there, then?
Or do they have other properties still to view?
I am all wiped out with TV viewing...
I am going to read my Sebastian Faulk's book!

Hello, Elle!
Ah, a missing "K", I get you.
I think they may make a bid for the house.
It is "sealed bids" only, to be opened next week, I think.
La Bamba approves of the house.
She went with them to see it.
I may try and find a schedule for the athletics for next week.
So I can watch the events that interest me.
It is disappointing to see so many empty seats at the championships, but not surprising.
The marathon will be torture in that heat.

Hi, Rusty!
Hey, that's great news about the house!
I know about the sealed bids system.
Whereabouts is the house?
Is it far from where they live at present?
I hope they are successful!
Fingers crossed for them!
My new TV guide seems reasonably informative about the Athletic events, in that it says what is taking place each day
But it doesn't give an actual timetable though, which I presume is what you are looking for?
It would certainly be handy.
Right.....time for a coffee!

Good morning, Elle!
Looks dry outside!
The house is a ten minute drive away, just.
I've been on the Athletics Weekly website looking for a schedule, and I came across the report of the women's marathon race.
Over a third of the runners abandoned the race due to the heat.
Charlotte Purdue was one of them.
The men's marathon and the race walking still to come.
So much for choosing Doha!
Anyway, the elite women cyclists won't have the heat problem at the World's in Yorkshire today!
I think it should be a great race!

A Very Good morning to you, Rusty!
It is damp here!
No longer raining, but very poggy underfoot when I was out with the dog .
I think a ten minute drive away to the "new" house sounds very convenient?
And they will hopefully be able to do up a lot of it themselves.
Let us hope that their sealed bid for the house will be successful!
I think it diabolical that some runners were forced to pull out of Marathon because of the extreme heat!
Surely, all this should have been considered, when choosing a venue?
Charlie Purdue was doing so well, too, this year.....showing great promise.
She will be so disappointed.
That is an excellent detailed timetable of the various events on the Athletics Weekly website!
I have both printed it out, and saved it in "Favourites".
I have no Times Cryptic crossword this morning....the only puzzle to arrive from John has been the Jumbo GK.
I wonder what has gone amiss?
