Hi, Rusty!
It is beautiful here now...all vestiges of fog are long gone, and the sun is shining brightly!
It is none too warm, though...nothing like yesterday!
We rarely travel up to London......certainly not to a restaurant ... although I would happily make the journey to go an Art exhibition, or pay a regular visit to one of the Art Galleries.
The only other time I feel obliged to travel up to town, is if we have visitors who want to go sight-seeing!
Mind you, I do not need much persuasion to go the Tower of London!
It is my favourite tourist attraction.... apart from the prohibitive cost of entry!

Good afternoon, Elle!
Great weather here, too!
I am quite at home in towns but I much prefer the countryside.
Home for the day now.
I think I would like a visit to the Tower if I visited London.

Hi, Rusty!
I have always had a hankering to live by the sea!
We were sorely tempted , at one point, to move to Pakefield, in Suffolk, where we spent such a lot of time on holiday.
But family ties have kept us on the London and Kent borders.
We have a son and one of our daughters, plus grandchildren, here, within relatively easy reach.
I shall take you to see the Tower of London, Rusty, if you ever come to London.
I am sure that you would enjoy it; it is steeped in History.
You would find the Imperial War Museums very interesting, too.
Right, now what to have for dinner?

Hello, Elle!
I like the sea, too.
How about Sheskinmore!
https://www.donegalcottageholidays.com/blog/sheskinmore-nature-reserve/
Now that's a special place!
I am lucky here, my family is close by.
I can see my youngest son's house from my front window.
And my older son is a short drive away.
(It's walkable, but uphill all the way, so I drive!)
Yes, there is so much history at the Tower.
I agree, the Imperial War Museum would tempt me, too.
I read yesterday that Steven Spielberg is making a film called "1917" which I think is about the Great War (not certain, mind) and part of it is being filmed in Glasgow, at a disused part of the docks.
I'll keep my eye out for it when it gets released.
I had smoked mackerel and tatties for tea, and it was very tasty!

Hi, Rusty!
Sheskinmore looks wonderful......I love a deserted beach......
Yes, you are fortunate in having your family living so close.
But we are very lucky, too, in having two of our three children and their families close by... and we get to see our elder daughter and family in the school holidays.
It could be worse.......they might live in Australia!!
Yes, I had heard that Steven Spielberg and Sam Mendes were making an epic WWI film.
But I did not know that parts of it were being filmed in the old Glasgow docks.
That should be interesting for those living in the vicinity.
Perhaps they will use locals as "extras"?
I had Shepherd's Pie for my meal!

Good evening, Elle!
I think they need extras for the film.
Be plenty in Glasgow!
I do not know Sam Mendes, though.
My grandson is here to watch the football!

Hi, Rusty!
That is nice that your grandson is with you to watch the football.
Who is playing whom, and where?
Sam Mendes is an English stage and film director.
My daughter has texted to say that she has booked a table for us all midday tomorrow at Pizza Express!
I see the hand of BB in that decision!
He loves pizza!

Hi, Rusty!
I'm sorry that your team lost...but hope it was a good match?
Has your grandson gone home now?
Pizza Express is a large restaurant group, with about five hundred restaurants all over the UK, and about a hundred overseas ......
According to Google, these are in Europe, Hong Kong, China, India and the Middle East.
So a very popular chain, indeed!
I am sure I must have mentioned Pizza Express previously - it is a favourite place of all our grandchildren!
Very child friendly with an excellent children's menu.
We are all looking forward to our get-together tomorrow!

Hello, Elle!
It was a very good game.
Grandson has gone home.
Yes, you may have mentioned Pizza Express.
I have had a pizza once or twice but it is not for me.
Not sure what I am at tomorrow.
The skiing is on in the morning.
Women's downhill, and I am cheering Lara Gut!
So best get out early for my paper!
