We've just gotten another ten inches of snow on top of the four we got two days ago, and there's another blizzard on the way Sunday. I suppose it could be worse; I could be stuck in a luxury suite in Sochi.
Dons rather nerdy hat and taped- up glasses.....
Re post 60, The preamble re no comments on clues was introduced after a suggestion by peterm after Clueless 10 became sidetracked by a comment that the word chosen was not likely to be understood. http://www.crosswordsolver.org/forum/147797/offset/50
Thanks for your input - but I'm not talking about comments about clues before voting or the judge's decision (although there are a few who still insist on commenting).
I was merely explaining to Ginger about the decision to explain (or not) a clue depending on which competition you entered.

In case of any ambiguity, I also agree that no comment should be made about any clue's merit prior to judgement in Clueless or a winner results in Peer Review. The point I was attempting to make is that before casting a vote ask for a parse if you don't understand a clue. In "Peer Review" preferably after the deadline for submission.
