g'day all,bit late getting to genius,this month.
got most , but still need
9.1 _ o _ i _ e / _ a _ s _
11 _ _ _ / _ p _ o _ e (sea/sponge?)
16 _o _ s _ / _ _l _
19 h _ n _ r _ (not hedwig)
26.2 _ _ l _ y / _ l _ _
the unusual phrases seem to be very "anglo". never heard "hairy godmother" in OZ.
any hints appreciated

11 cup sponge - cue with pong + ps (outer letters of poisonous)
16 loose tile (loos = ladies & gents toilets)
19 hendry (snooker potter)
26,2 belly flop becomes telly flop
I've never heard of hairy godmother either!!

ta ,sudokulover,
there were a few "rudies" in the clues. i wouldn't have expected them in Guardian crosswords. a sign of the times, i suppose.

I'm afraid that's Paul for you - he slips a few of those clues into the prize crossword too on occasions when he is the setter
