I will persevere and hope for a pdm!

I too am puzzled by 12a - in the pdf version it is blank on the screen but when I print it off there are some odd-looking characters there instead. Too small to make them out until I find a magnifying glass, but they look like a line of shepherd's crooks or something!

Ignore any odd characters in the printout for 12a - they aren't needed for the definition

Chrise, re 2d , you may need to look further at 9a

chrise 9a is 4,5, where the 4 could be 13 to 18!

Thanks mafu. My wrong 9a is closer to parsing than this answer though! I get the short nap, but where does the rest come from?
