It may be worth looking at the preamble again - you should have 23 cells highlighted. Once you've done that, the contents (of the safe that the puzzle represents) should be apparent.

Hamish - safe to say this was a cracker of a puzzle! I thought this was very well pitched as a good challenge. Needed some different coloured highlighters to keep track of the dials, but all worked out very neatly in the end.

Oldwolfie, that's not what you need. Your third sentence in post 73 indicates that you are on the right track. That is the comparison mentioned by Muraria.
I personally can't claim credit for completing the puzzle. Even when I had the clear message, i gave up and asked a "pal" for help, but I never submit entries.

With "23 cells" as the subject of the phrase, I printed the solved 5th/6th and, carefully, matched and got only 21 cells that read like gibberish.

I was looking for real words.

My conclusion exactly ilippu.

The alphabetic entry just means that you present your solution words in order. Not all the letters...

Just catching up with the overnight posters...as mattrom says, don't treat the 6th word of the message as an adjective, it's a noun, referring to another puzzle.Once you've done that simply overlay one on top of the other.

Ah got it now, missed the obvious!
