I think I was in two minds with 5d because the first 5 letters of the answer are often clued as 'drunk' but I can't recall seeing "drunken" which, as I said in my previous post, prompted me to look it up in Chambers, which gives one definition as "worthless, besotted" which would, I think, in many peoples eyes equate to "drunken scoundrel".
I had a a query against 6d because the definition could just as easily have been "for a despot", making "suitable" either there just for surface of as an extra word - I still think a case could be made for both.
But, at the end of the day, it was my error, so no complaints.
