Thanks jono.

I passed 17a with a feeling of unease and was obsessing with Bass Strait.

Thank to everyone who helped. I have got there in the end, and am slightly confident that I may be quite likely fairly rightish. I think I shall wait to see if they gnat us to input more than just the eight words though.

Not so fast!

If you use the 'print' command on the landing page, it shows a 3 page .pdf with the right grid and no clues!

If you access 'print version', that shows wrong grid with the clues.

I forgot to add a thankyou to buzzybee, who very graciously tried to help me over the line on Day 1. Much appreciated BB

The 'Click here to access the print version' text link now correctly goes to: https://uploads.guim.co.uk/2026/06/02/Genius_crossword_No_276.pdf

You might need to refresh the page however, as the filename has also changed, not just the file behind it.

(by the way, the regular 'print' command on that page will never print the actual puzzle, it will just try to render the page you are looking at 😁)

No problem SirC. It is quite a challenge to provide enough guidance to help people without giving the whole game away.

No problem SirC. Quite a challenge to provide just enough info to assist without giving the whole game away.

well I followed jono's link from page 1 and it gave me (as far as I can see) the grid which is now on the site. Anyway, that's what I worked from. For anyone still struggling, I couldn't work things out from the idea of cubes but had to cut out two lots of three layers and hold them do I could see "down" them. Only thing I'm unclear about is I have a 3-letter link word which I assume must go with the extra word in 18 and is short for Robert but can't find a match in Chambers ...

Hi Prospero. I paired the 3-letter link word you are talking about with the spare word in 14d.
Then I have a link word for 18d which is straight out of Chambers (a Scottish gang member amongst other things).
