Stuck for half-hour with 3 across and 3 down clues to go.

Need a break.

Stuck on the bewildering (to me at least) 21.
It was going swimmingly and seemed rather gentle, but then then a one-two punch. First the ingenious 1 took oodles of time. Subsequently 21 forced me to set the puzzle aside.

Ditto on 21a Geeker - even having both crossers isn't helping!

... and, of course, I get it straight after posting!

Brendan, I have both of the crossers, whose clues were easy. But still mystified. I have a guess for the first letter, but that doesn't lead to any solution word I recognize.

But some fine clues. Thanks to Imogen. Barring the mother of all PDMs on 21, 17 would be COD, followed by 1. FOI was 28.

The wordplay is everything bar the first word, if that helps.

Feel better after reading the comments about eternity it took me to solve 21ac, which has some clever misdirection.

A lot of fine clues for this Prize entry - favourite was 11ac.

Thanks to Imogen for a deceptively tricky Prize puzzle.

Had to reverse engineer a few to see if, after having got possible answers from the wordplay, they could fit a definition: 21a and 6d are cases in point.

Still, lots to like and quite a few COD contenders, but I think I'll copy Mogwai and go for 11a.

Yes, 11 also very good, I mistakenly threw my COD notes in the fire (cold night, running the wood stove), so overlooked it. 🤣

Wood stove, sounds lovely and I bet it looks it too:-)
