Although last night I made inane Google searches about Putin bringing his own food, chefs, etc. with him to India. 😬

I have a prayer (though more of a hymn) fitting in 12 but cannot parse it. Help?

I agree about 4 and 17 being brilliant. 1 took me stupidly long despite these things being rather common tools of my trade.

I didn't write out 12, but I think it's just an anagram, using an abbreviation for "saint".

1a - 3 letter word for a "house in South of France" goes around 5 letter word meaning "very quick time" - definition is "arranged numbers" (within a branch of maths I think)

26a - "a" from the clue plus 4 letter "painful condition" + single letter "essentially fit" - definition is "animal"

Ok, in the light of day (here in California anyway) I have resolved my outstanding parses except for 7. No one has asked about it, so I must be dense. I see the first three letters but how do the last six come from “Rat”?
