chris, I see your point on 11d.
I liked it because the definition was so cleverly hidden. And to be honest, I didn't think much (enough?) about inaccuracy. I've always admitted being permissive about cluing.

Well I think I've finished though I did look up a couple of answers. I'm not sure about my answer to 22ac as I cannot parse it, but I think it is a manual covering. There are several I can't parse like 26ac (I can't see where Brosnan comes in), 15d which is part anagram I think, 23d where the answer is a mystery to me - where does the golf come in?

I also have trouble with some of the definitions like 4d, the first part of 22d. I can't see many theme words. I really don't like Brockwell.

FOI was 7ac, LOI was 22ac, CODs 2d, 10ac amongst a few others.

I doubt I will be able to tackle the crossword next week as it is my husband's birthday and I've invited friends round for afternoon tea, so I have a cake to make etc.

Roof. Brosnan just gives you one letter. It's explained in the first part of the next word.

Hi Lucertola,

8a - a type of coffee (or any drink minus one particular ingredient) reversed/'on the counter' gives a word meaning "looked at"

Late to the party today for another cracker from Brockwell.

Rather embarrassingly I can't see any theme, but then I rarely do - I think my brain must be wired differently.

However, on the plus side, I was prompted to listen to the absolute 80's classic Echo Beach by Martha and the Muffins.

Haven't had time to do a real deep dive into the parsings yet (still in shock at the Irons winning 2 on the bounce!), so haven't yet picked a COD.

Thanks as ever to Brockwell who has firmly established himself as a true fan favourite and master of his art:-)

... In addition to the joys of rehearing Echo Beach, another clue prompted a playing of one of my all time favourite songs and a long time member on my playlist by the late, great Steve Harley and his band Cockney Rebel. (I can't say which for fear of spoilers, but give a thumbs up if you know it.)
