Not sure when it might be available on the Private Eye website, but just to say that the Christmas Special Private Eye is out now at the usual retailers, and contains the usual jumbo crossword containing a quote from the magazine earlier in the year.

I couldn't find the full quote online without a subscription but it's not too difficult to deduce, at least if you have some familiarity with the relevant bit of Private Eye and the subject matter.

Hmzy, The point of Twit’s post is to help our Private Eye members. If you don’t like it, then pass by without comment otherwise you will find that you are banned next time you try to post.

And I do not tolerate bad language, your acronym is equivalent to the full word. Another reason for banning you.

I have half a dozen answers in (which is good for me!) but if someone could help with the quote I would be grateful. Even if it is just an issue number/date. And Twit, thank you for starting this thread.

I'm popping in only to say I feel deprived! As a subscriber, I have to wait for my copy to be delivered, and at this time of year...

As many, many solvers won't have even seen the magazine yet, it'd be a bit disappointing if there's an awful lot of help given here very, very quickly. Still, I can escape that - I might just not look in until I have seen the puzzle for myself!

Eye subscriber here, got it promptly, have done the entire thing. A pal sent me a pic of E J Thribb age 17 and a half (not out)'s poem, and it caused a final few clues to fall into place.

There is profanity galore in Cyclops.
Just sayin.
