Ref the long unclued phrase around the edge, I don't think I'll get it because I don't have a photographic memory for past Private Eyes, but I have got the theme so am trying to work it out. If anyone has got the answer, could you tell me if it's correct that the sixth word is 11 letters? I'm asking because the first five letters are c?t?h so I'm wondering if this is 'catch', and then there should be a word break, which the grid isn't showing.

SB, like you, I don't have a photographic memory, but I filled it all in fairly readily. The word you mention is 11 letters long, and your first five letters are correct. I'll add a hint at the bottom, don't scroll if you don't want to see it....

Could someone help with 41D - I’ve got word meaning “not for” ending with another word / letter for “one” and then a 3 letter word (backwards - “retired”) which is kind of an abbreviation for sex?

PS I think I have the Poetry Corner extract - do you need to include that when sending an entry in to them?
