Hi Guys,

Similar experience to yours, in that, several were write-ins but a small handful proved very knotty.

I have the answers but would appreciate help with the parsing with 26a, 29a and 30a.

Thanks to Fed for a fun puzzle:-)

Okay,

Re 26a I can see that "lady occasionally" goes around "astor" without "nothing", but why "starts" and where is the indicator that places the 'astor' part inside the 'lady' bit?

... and now I've also seen 30a.

So thast just leaves the finer points of 26a:-)

Brendan, I don't have Chambers, but perhaps "start" (verb) is being used as an anagrind for ("lady occasionally" + "Astor nothing going")?

Rather "starts"

Okay, thanks Geeker, that must be it.

PS I won't be watching PogChamps either, MoistCritical is the only competitor I know but, as I've said before, I find his constant scatological references deeply off-putting.

Brendan and Geeker, could "starts" also indicate that "Astor nothing goes" appears before "lady occasionally"?

The PogChamps is already over.
I watched a few bits and pieces.
Some of the games were quite high quality and exciting, but the lineup of players was not very interesting to me.

Overall, the quality of play was higher than previous editions. Fewer hopelessly weak players, and stronger at the upper end as well.

akg, you are right again! Interesting that there are two possibilities (container or trailer), but your parsing fits.
