Haven't got access to the puzzle as I'm out tonight. But from memory changing the s would produce an a. So 'all of his' becomes a? I can see a' is northern for all, but why 'of his'?

sh - I believe the "of his" refers back to the "laird" earlier in the clue.

Like others, struggling with SW corner, would love a hint for 29d, I have S?M??
Also I have all crossers for 21a, there must be multiple clashes in this word?

There are two clashes in 21a.

There's a misprint in 29d. The answer is a coin.

The parsing on the coin is built on the US 10c going up.

Re. 36 across: if my answer is correct, all of the letters of LAIRD are needed, plus three from FIST. The letter to be omitted from FIST is, IMO, a contraction of a three-letter word containing a misprint. Its definition in Chambers includes an apostrophe.

My parsing of 36a has a different misprint.
