Great crossword - deceptively simple until grasping the consequences of the ambiguity.

I take it we need to wait until someone at the Guardian wakes up and amends the submission form (at present suggesting 2 answers per clue).
How have others handled this?

aspria, I think you need to pick a side! This will resolve the ambiguities.

All finished now, with the hidden name and the theme and the four undefined clues ... but where does the ambiguity come in? I realise that the "middle bit" could be ambiguous, but what alternatives are there to, presumably, 7 A/D and 20 A/D?

Oh, I almost get it. If you use the alternative for the "middle bit," you can change three of the intersecting down clues to fit that ... but where is the fifth?
