Struggled today but Just got there with all your useful tips! Final puzzle- where does brown bread fit in to 7d?

"Brown bread" is rhyming slang.

Thank you Everyman! This has to be up there as one of my most enjoyable solves ever. There are many ingenious clues resulting in aha moments and smiles. Too many to choose from but all of the following were most appreciated:
Across: 15, 19, 21
Down: 2, 8, 16

I am completely stumped by 8d. I have crossers S, U, D and either L or P (depending on which way round 17a is), and K. Either I've made an error elsewhere or I have a non-existent word. I agree with other comments - finding this harder than yesterday's Prize and some clues are very dodgy.
