Thanks Rocky and same here Jono viz 'diddly', but I did find this in The Britannica Dictionary:-

US slang : the least amount : anything at all
I don't know squat [=diddly-squat] about baseball.
He didn't do squat all day.
The car is worth squat. [=nothing at all]

I think it’s fair. It’s also in the ODE.

I know it's still early, but you guys seem to be doing okay - did I overstate the difficulty level?

The last thing I'd want is to put people off.

The Summer bank holiday Jumbo in the print version isn't a "prize puzzle" . It's by Maskarade and involves omissions AR,BR,CR... from the wordplay in the across clues.....similarly RA,RB,RC....from the downs

I don't think you did Brendan. I have the NE complete plus a few stragglers. Bottom half still blank.
I have a few possible answers but zero or squat idea how to parse.

But I am thoroughly enjoying the challenge.

I am finding this very tough and, unless I am missing something, there doesn’t seem to be an anagram in the whole puzzle ?
