Eh bien, here in the Haute-Pyrénées where it’s now 0143 and still very hot, after a 9.5 hour train journey from London, I was hoping for something that wouldn’t fry my brain. At first I thought something was wrong (and in fact one of the clues does have a misprint, I think), but then all became clear. Quite the tour de force from Brendan.
FOI 17, LOI 4.
COD? Not sure that any particular clue is better than the ingenuity with which the concept was carried into effect overall. But ok I liked 10
and 22 (which should also appeal to geeker).

Yes. Fantastic puzzle. Loved the 6 pairs and several others.
Brendan on Monday and Saturday! Not to be missed

That was fun. One of the best.

Yes there is a misprint. 12 should read "more than one"

Thanks to Brendan. I enjoyed it a lot but twigged the concept, including the long concatenated solution, quickly. So it was a pretty quick solve over dinner.

Only quibble is that the uber-thematic pair wouldn't have the same # of letters, which led to a slight awkwardness.

FOI 5, LOI 7. 2 probably took the most time (for no good reason), followed by 9, whose solution was clear but whose parsing came slowly.

Also didn't think about COD so much, because the concept was the most outstanding feature IMO. 4 and 2 brought biggest smiles, so I'll call them co-COD.

FOI 1D; LOI 7D.

Not an overly difficult Prize puzzle, but very enjoyable, with some interesting techniques. Entered the answer for 12a into 18a, which held me up for a little while. Two Brendan puzzles this week, which is always a good thing.

Grateful for the easier pace after finally getting through the Claw Genius puzzle yesterday.

Literally just picked this up but I have a question straight off. 6a has two possible answers, both of which give the same crossers. I've already forgotten the name for this phenomenon that I think Jono pointed out last time around. Is there a way of establishing the right one?

OK I get it. Ignore that post. I should have read further into the clues.

Yes, there are two possible answers, but one can be eliminated by applying the theme.

Yes Brendan has certainly decided to put us through it this week. I think my problem here is having viable answers but no idea how to parse. I have 13,8 and I can see the repeated thrice part but no idea on the rest of it. Likewise 4d and 10a just about works but a bit loose.

All good fun though. I shall press on.

Hi again Rocky7 (did they really make that many parts of this pugilistic potboiler?)
The first part indicates what happens three times in the second.
