Thank you Brockwell! His crosswords are never easy but solving them always a pleasure and learning curve! So many brilliant clues giving a satisfying sense of achievement when solved.
LOI 1d
FOI 17d
COD so many such as 21a, 18a, 24a,28a,1d, 23d.
Think I’ve parsed 20d but would welcome some help.
Along with Maskarade my favourite compiler.

20: definition "sweet stuff (7)", it's a Spoonerism of "pointer (4) leaves (4)".

Hi Everyone

Started even later than usual and groaned when I saw it was Brockwell. I've finished. but with some help from Danword. I couldn't parse 13 of the answers. Don't worry, I'm not going to list them as I'm not that interested. I mainly got the answer from the definition and then checked it on Danword. It was interesting to read here how the rest of you got on.

I did spot the theme eventually but too late to help me and I don't know all of them. 21ac gave it away. My FOI was 5d, but it was wrong when I got 11ac (I did eventually get 5d, but it is one of the ones I couldn't parse). I think I then got 3d and 17d. My LOI was 26d - not a word I know.

CODs 6d and 28ac, the latter took me ages to get.

I also had trouble with the Quick Cryptic today - too many answers required removing letters. I'm not good at that.

I like that Brockwell joins the Forum. Can you explain 1d to me.

Hi roof
1d is a particular "fit type" missing his first letter, inside an anagram ("mad"); definition "party animal".
