Agreed, jono. But I'm struggling this weekend. ;-)
Maize composed a really challenging puzzle in the Saturday Indy. I forgot to even look for a Nina, and of course there happened to be a striking one which I only saw courtesy of 225.

One more struggling to see theme here.

Re Maize, saw the nina towards the end and got a few answers because of that. It is an awesome puzzle, and strongly recommend.

Hi again rocky.
I know nothing about NFL, so I was thinking about soccer. It’s a phrase I’ve heard in commentaries, and when I googled the solution with ‘football’ to check, AI provided confirmation (as if that is in any way conclusive!)

Geeker and biggus the abbreviation brings back fond memories of university fund raising weeks.

Agreed dhope @65. I did not think it was an abbreviation at all. Meanwhile I'm still waiting for the theme to emerge. It's tantalising.

"Rag" is not an abbreviation , it's a noun derived from a verb meaning to indulge in horseplay amongs other meanings.

"Rag week" was a money-raising effort in many universities. The Rag Magazines perpetuated dubious jokes!

Busy day for me so I haven't been able to properly sit down with the puzzle outside of occasional 10 minute snatches.

Will probably finish tomorrow. The lower left section of the grid is proving tricky. All in all a really satisfying puzzle though
