All done fairly swiftly (for me!) but stuck on three clues in the SE corner. Any hints for 20d, 23a & 17d much appreciated. I needed to look up 2d and double check 22a but all else (more or less) plain sailing. A lovely accompaniment to a lunchtime pint. Thanks Brendan

Many thanks. Just the impetus I needed. All complete now. For some reason that particular state doesn’t always spring to mind.

You are welcome, paul. I rather liked 23!

In NFL or Soccer Rog? Because I would use a different first word in Soccer.

Hi everyone

I thought this easier than usual but came to the forum with two left. 3d, which the forum has solved for me and 5ac, which the forum has half solved, I can't remember the name of the biblical mountain. Just googled it - so I've finished, but didn't like the clue.

I couldn't quite parse all of 13ac (ah, now I see it). I didn't know 2d, 22ac or 25ac and am not sure why 1d is right (can't parse it).

Jono, I thought there were an unusual number of Ws in the solutions.

I might just have time to plants some of my plants, though the weather has cooled down considerably here.

FOI 10ac, LOI 5ac and COD 12ac closely followed by 21ac, 16d, 19d and 17d

I hope to find time to do the crossword next week-end, but may have a lot to do before going away and may not be back in time the following week.

Also suspect a theme but can't nail it down.
Lot of Ws, also Ms.
I suspect 13 (in the grid) has some significance.
A lot of 19 (or at least ***-part) solutions, reinforced by 21.

It seems any theme (if there is one) has eluded us all.
