It jars very time I hear it. And I live in Australia, so I don't hear it very often!

That's "every time".

It would be great to be able to edit my own post!

Enjoyed this, but certainly challenging! The coloured pencils were in use.
My only mysteries left are the parsings for 28d and 30d.
If anyone can help without spoilers.

28d - look up the middle three letters of the answer

30d - definition is last word. Wordplay is one letter, three letters and then one letter

It’s also thematic so you may need to work out what the answer is first from the entry

Thanks both!
Surely the hardest clue in the puzzle. On another level!

I appreciate the efforts to help me find the slogan but having tried the obvious (googling lists of slogans, generating 3 and 6 letter words) and the less obvious (adjusting the title, musing about public transport, jars) I’m filing this puzzle with all the others where the endgame is beyond me.

Looking forward to a new puzzle on Saturday (and finding out where I went wrong 3 weeks ago.)

Dim, you were so close. If you refine your public transport slogan search with “security” you will certainly get there
