I thought this was very neat, although I echo the sentiment that it may be tricky for non UK solvers.

Only loose end for me is the last letter of 7. I'm guessing it's the same as the last letter in 35, and if so I can see the wordplay. But I can't see how the definition works?

S-harry - 7d definition is thematic treatment of first word

Top half done, and the three ways understood, apart from understanding the entries for 6d and 11d.

Now sorting out bottom half - what do I do with the answer for 27ac?

Thanks

I was puzzled for a while by 27a. The entry is not in Chambers, but qualifies under one of the standard exceptions.

Thanks j bird. I thought 'saint' had to be thematically treated to get the wordplay to work, but I see now that it doesnt.

Very nice.

Think I'm just about there... Hate the slogan but thought this was a clever use of it! Thank you, Bell!

Think my only loose end is 21D. I can only see one word that fits, and if my tally is correct, I know which category it falls into, but I just can't parse it.

Ha, there really is some kind of magic to posting... 21D parsed - I'd got it in the wrong category after all.

I have all the answers, but can't parse 3, 9 and 11 down. Any gentle hints would be welcome. They're annoying me.

Mack -
3d is 4 last letters - you need to thematically alter third word of clue
9d is a anagram, the anagram indicator requires a thematic change
11d second word needs thematic adjustment

Thanks, JBird54. I should have spotted those. Very annoying! Perhaps I should be more persistent in the future.
